Nancy Kavanagh O’Neill has worked as a portrait photographer in Baltimore for almost forty years, returning to the same families year after year to capture memories of everyday moments as well as big occasions. It is humbling for Nancy to walk into someone’s home and see her work beautifully displayed, reflecting so many life stories.

In her personal work as well, Nancy creates images that are flavored by memory. Memories of childhood and memories of Ireland as well as the everyday moments that resound within her, touchstones of friendship and life’s milestones large and small, a child’s smile or a good baseball game, a lotus flower in bloom. These are the remembrances that move Nancy forward to new adventures, big and bold or small and soft.
